It’s Like Drinking Water
At church we are doing a series on hearing the voice of God. I spoke this Sunday and talked about what it means to “pray continually” and how God wants to speak to us throughout our day.

Strength and Courage
This past Sunday I spoke at church. We’ve been focusing on learning God’s ways and walking in them.
In my message I shared from the book of Joshua and focused on the element that God is with us whether we recognize His active role in our lives or not.

Show Me Your Way
This past Sunday I spoke at church. We’ve been introducing our focus for this year based out of Isaiah 2:2-3. The focus of my message was centred around this passage from Exodus:
12Moses said to the LORD, “You have been telling me, ‘Lead these people,’ but you have not let me know whom you will send with me. You have said, ‘I know you by name and you have found favor with me.’ 13If you are pleased with me, teach me your ways so I may know you and continue to find favor with you. Remember that this nation is your people.”
–Exodus 33:12-13 (NIV)
I talked about what it means to learn God’s “ways” and how that relates to the direction we take for our individual lives.

Lonely Places
The New Year brings a new series at WellSpring! We’re starting a new focus for the 2009 year based out of Isaiah:
2In the last days
the mountain of the LORD’s temple will be established
as chief among the mountains;
it will be raised above the hills,
and all nations will stream to it.3Many peoples will come and say,
“Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD,
to the house of the God of Jacob.
He will teach us his ways,
so that we may walk in his paths.”
The law will go out from Zion,
the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.–Isaiah 2:2-3 (NIV)
The key elements from this passage that we’ll be looking at will unfold over the next few weeks during our Sunday morning teachings. While sharing this past Sunday I focused on the element of “going up the mountain.”
In my message I compared the uniqueness of encountering God in a deep and personal way, the “mountain” experience, versus our day-to-day connection with God. Both facets are pivotal to the life of a follower of Christ, but there is an element of meeting God when we are alone and without distraction (hence the Lonely Places title) that fuels the other.

Get Your Fan On
This Sunday I spoke at church. We’ve been continuing our ReGeneration series and I did a comparison between living the ReGenerated life and being a sports fanatic. The message, Get Your Fan On, is available by clicking the link.
Life by the Spirit
My church is continuing its theme of Generations, which we started in the fall. For the past few weeks my pastor has been focusing on the element that followers of Christ are a new creation and, as a result, have the choice as to how they are going to live their lives.
When I shared this last Sunday morning I looked at the passage in Galatians 5 and talked about the necessity for Christians to make a continual choice to live their lives by the Spirit of God.

Generations: Looking Beyond
This fall my church is focusing on Generations. I shared a message this week that looked at the value of appreciating other generations and the importance of each generation’s unique contribution.
