I had a typo in the ReadMe file. The minimum required version of WordPress is 2.8. However, if you cannot update your WordPress install and want to try the plugin, you can simply open the <code>simply-twitter.php</code> file in a text editor and do a search and replace. Search for: <code>esc_attr</code> Replace with: <code>attribute_escape</code> That should resolve the error (I can't specifically test it because I don't have a running install of WP 2.6, but that will fix the fatal error you're reporting).
